A New Kind of Athletic Challenge

How complete is athletic ability if only one aspect of performance is measured?

Traditional sporting events typically focus on a particular discipline or physical attribute. The NeoPent Challenge takes a broader approach, bringing endurance, strength, agility, balance and speed together within one structured sporting event.

The NeoPent Challenge will be scientifically designed to test the 5 key attributes of an athlete. This allows athletes from different sports and different genders to compete with each on an equal basis.

Each discipline contributes to the overall result, creating an individual performance profile that reveals both strengths and areas for development.

This structured approach also creates the potential for personalised data to be compared and analysed—offering wider value for participants, coaches, sporting organisations and academic research.

Five Measures. Equal Importance. One Result.

The NeoPent Challenge evaluates five distinct areas of athletic performance. Each discipline contributes to the participant’s overall result, meaning each attribute has equal weighting.

ENDURANCE

Sustained performance, stamina and resilience.

STRENGTH

Power, force and controlled physical effort.

AGILITY

Movement, responsiveness and change of direction.

BALANCE

Stability, coordination and physical control.

SPEED

Acceleration, pace and rapid performance.

Success in The NeoPent Challenge comes from
your performance across all five disciplines.

From Performance to Insight

The NeoPent Challenge is designed to do more than record who finishes first.

Results from each of the five disciplines are brought together to create an individual performance profile, allowing participants to see how they performed across endurance, strength, agility, balance and speed.

Personalised results can also be compared across wider groups—helping to identify patterns relating to factors such as age, gender, sporting background and occupation.

01 — PARTICIPATE

Participants complete all five disciplines within one structured sporting event.

02 — MEASURE

Performance is captured across five distinct physical attributes using consistent event criteria.

03 — EVALUATE

Results create individual profiles and anonymised datasets that can support comparison, analysis and future research.

Built for Competition. Designed for Discovery.

Exploring the research potential of all-round athletic performance.

The NeoPent Challenge is being developed as a genuine sporting challenge with the potential to support meaningful academic research into all-round athletic performance.

The aim is to work with an experienced academic partner to review and develop the event’s methodology, explore the value of the information collected and establish how anonymised participant results could contribute to future study.

A collaboration could help ensure that NeoPent’s approach to performance measurement, data collection and analysis is structured responsibly and delivers genuine value beyond the event itself.

Potential areas of collaboration
Methodology & Scoring

Reviewing how the five disciplines contribute to an overall performance profile.

Research Framework

Identifying meaningful questions that NeoPent data could help explore.

Data & Ethics

Developing appropriate consent, anonymisation and data-handling principles.

Long-Term Insight

Exploring comparisons and trends across participants, groups and future events.

The NeoPent Challenge provides the event structure and participant experience. Academic collaboration can help unlock the wider value of the results.
